National Quality Standards

Paddington Children’s Centre received EXCEEDING in all 7 Quality Areas when assessed against the National Quality Standards.

The National Quality Standard (NQS) is a key aspect of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and sets a high, national benchmark for early childhood education and care, and outside school hours care services in Australia.

It gives services and families a better understanding of a quality service, helping families to make informed decisions about the services providing education and care to their child. The NQS brings together the 7 key quality areas that are important to outcomes for children.

Aboriginal Children’s Service Restoration Project

PCC has been working on a large scale community engagement project to get the Aboriginal Children’s Service in Redfern fully restored with the aim to support the ACS to provide programs for the community. Early childhood education is proven to improve the educational outcomes for children in future learning. Paddington Children’s Centre is partnering with the ACS to provide a playgroup program in Redfern. An Aboriginal Playgroup Co-ordinator has been employed to facilitate the program with support from Paddington Educators. Having Early Childhood qualified educators facilitating the program who are partnering with local community members/organisations will provide families/children with support, mentoring and a culturally rich environment and program.
